My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peyton could be that dream come true pup for retirees who love spending their time with a cottony-soft and very smart companion. There's no question Peyton would also do well with gentle, dog-loving older kids who enjoy the fun that a sweet little dog brings to a family. We'd like only older children in Peyton's family not because he doesn't enjoy young kids...he really does - but because Peyton is only about 10 - 12 lbs and 18 - 24 months old...we want to make certain he's handled gently and respectfully.

Peyton does love playing and is entertaining in his silly antics, young energy and the huge love he wants to show to everyone he knows. His story is all too common in his extremely close call to being euthanized in a scary Texas shelter....but who could ignore his adorable manner and desire to bond with anyone who would be his best friend?

Peyton is initially a bit shy..but give him a moment (a belly rub and yummy treats are helpful) and he inches just a bit closer to a welcoming lap. Before you know it he's gently loving you with a soft kiss. The awesome Texas rescuers recognized all of this and knew that there was a home out there that would love, respect and make this little guy a permanent member of their family.

Peyton would do well with anyone who's invested in spending time with their pup. He's so pleasant and portable that he can be a part of any adventure....it can be a leisurely walk, a visit with friends (with or without their dogs), a car ride on vacation or just an afternoon spending time together plopped down on the couch - all of this would speak to Peyton's loving and loyal temperament. We aren't open to a home where everyone spends their days working full-time outside of the home....we'd like Peyton to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle.

Peyton appears to be a non-shedding (or perhaps very lightly shedding) guy with the softest hair ever. He will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cottony-soft coat healthy and matt-free.

Peyton won't be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of Texas. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Peyton's neuter and microchip after his arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used.

Peyton will be arriving on transport in Denver on Sunday 3/26/17. If interested in this very sweet guy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
