My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This pretty lady is named Jolie! She is a 2 year old Cane Corso that is currently being fostered in Shreveport, LA. Her owner had to surrender her to the shelter because she couldn't take Jolie with her after she moved to a new home. When she arrived in the shelter, she took it really hard. Jolie was very shy and was just trying to figure out where she was and why she was there in the first place. The Animal Control officers decided to keep her in their office alongside a cat, and she seemed to enjoy that environment much better than the chaos of the kennels. She loved getting attention from everyone that came into the office, and she always let them know when she needed to go outside to use the bathroom.

Jolie arrived in her new foster home recently and is settling in nicely. She was still scared and shy but slowly opening up to her foster parents. Jolie has been dog and cat tested, and we know that she is great with kids between the ages of 5 and 10. She is great on a leash but is happiest staying at home where she feels comfortable. She is heart worm positive and will need to continue heart worm treatment after she is adopted. If you are interested in Jolie or any of our other dogs, please feel free to email us at: info@bullpenrescue.org.

We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you’re interested in is a good match.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a “perfect placement” so we know that they will not be failed again.
