Hi! My name is Pockets and I am looking for someone to curl up with and call my own. I’m a petite, goofy boy who loves spending time with my people as well as tossing my stuffed animals around, I’m a pro! I had a rough start in life; the kind person that brought me to Brother Wolf saved me from a negligent environment and worked with me until I was ready to come to Brother Wolf. My friends think I’ve made good progress! I like to be petted at my own terms, so once I am familiar with you I love being scratched on the head and playing, but I don’t like to be touched anywhere else unless I really trust you. This is why I would do best in an adult home, or one with children over 12 years old. The behavior team at Brother Wolf supports my search for a home so much that they will do training sessions with you if you are interested in adopting me, that way we can be successful together! I like some dogs as long as they’re not too pushy, so if you have one we can meet at Brother Wolf to make sure we get along.I hope you enjoyed learning about me, check out my pictures and video to see how cute I am! And if you have any questions please feel free to contact BWAR, they’ll answer any of your questions!

This cute dog is available for adoption at Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in our Adoption Center. Please come visit today!

Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

About Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is known for their excellence in matching people with the best dog or cat that would suit their lifestyle. Today we are proud to have the largest NO-KILL shelter in Asheville. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue was established in 2006. We started off as a very small group of people, taking dogs and cats from gassing shelters in GA. We found wonderful homes for these animals but realized while we were saving these particular animals, we had a much bigger problem in our community that we needed to face. Perfectly healthy, highly adoptable animals in our community are being euthanized every day. Rescued pets are not broken or damaged goods. They are wonderful animals who have ended up homeless through no fault of their own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our facility is located at 31 Glendale Avenue in Asheville, off Swannanoa River Rd, 1/2 mile from Lowe's. Open every day.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions will require a contract and discussions with one of our adoption counselors. Based on the needs of the particular animal, we reserve the right to require a home visit at the discretion of the adoption counselor. All our animals will be altered before adoption and up-to-date on standard vaccinations. We do collect an adoption fee.
