A volunteer writes: I love walking Ashley and having her show off her tricks to staff and other volunteers that we pass. Ashley is a star! She knows how to `sit,` `give paw` and even `roll over` on command and her admirers clap and giggle in delight as she flaunts her skills. Ashley will obey those commands for nothing but a little pat on the head, but she prefers to receive a treat for payment. Given her food motivation, I have no doubt she can learn much more than is already in her repertoire! In the yard, Ashley proves to be very housebroken and once she''s relieved herself she will grab a ball for a little game of fetch. Ashley retrieves the ball and drops it on command (you may have to ask her twice, though! Ha!) and I start to think there isn''t anything that this long-legged gal can''t do! Having had enough of her game, she comes to sit on the bench with me, enjoying the sun and a good back scratch until she remembers there are treats in my bag and she hunts it down, softly propping her paws on the gate where it''s hung looking back at me with pleading eyes, `Another snack, please?` She certainly has earned it, so I oblige and begrudgingly our time has come to an end. As I return her to her kennel, there''s a new audience to parade her in front of, and she completes her catalog of tricks with the same enthusiasm as the last three times. Ashley is truly a special dog, looking for a special home to call her own. Ask to meet her today!
Another volunteer writes: Ashley is a beautiful gal. She is only six years old which is the prime time for adoption. She is past the hassles of puppydom but has lots of mileage left on her odometer. She sports an elegant pearl gray coat with a snow white blouse and facial highlights . Quite a looker is she! Come make Ashley''s acquaintance.
