This wonderful, beautiful, exuberant, big thirteen month old year old dog needs a new home. Due to no fault of Gracie, I need to find someone who will love and appreciate her and be her human person forever. She was a rescue puppy, found under a truck at a few weeks old, weighing only 2 lbs. She now weighs about 65+ lbs and is long and tall, she has the body of a Weimaraner. Her DNA from Wisdom Panel shows that she is 50% German Shepherd (black) and 50% Weimaraner, no other breed found in the DNA. She has never shown signs of aggression but she will bark if someone comes around. She is extremely intelligent. She goes to K-9 Curriculum at least one day a week for socialization and we are also doing training with them on an additional day. She would be wonderful with agility training or jogging. She has been crate trained, but outgrew the crate so she hasn’t been crated in a while. She sleeps in the house at night. When she is disciplined or scared, she goes under my b ed to her safe spot. She rings a bell at the door to go outside and I am training her to come by using a whistle. She is a “Velcro” dog, attached to my side when in the house.
Gracie is going through the silly phase now and not want to listen (working on that and she responds really well to a male voice), wants to jump up to greet people (working on that). Because she has so much energy and gets bored easily, she digs in the yard. I believe these things will be mostly resolved with more training and as she gets a little older, she is still just a huge puppy. She will need a fenced yard or in ground fence and would love being with another dog. I do not know how she would do with farm animals or cats. She loves playing with kids but would probably do better with older kids since she is so large and bouncy.
ONLY SERIOUS INQUIRIES FROM SOMEONE WHO WILL LOVE HER & TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF HER. References, please!
