A few words from my foster mom:

Lucy has a story to tell, and it wasn't the happiest beginning.  Leaving that all behind, she's looking so forward to her happy ending & is learning to trust & be loved more and more each day!  Lucy's life started out in a mass breeding facility, where her "job" was to produce puppies for profit.  She wasn't held & cuddled, she wasn't taught how to be a loving family pet.  But that all changed when her breeder released her and she came to LOYAL!

In the short time she's been "free", Lucy has learned to how to play with toys, and learned how to look up at you with love in her eyes so that you have no choice but to pick her up and hold her close and give her as much love as possible.  We're making up for lost time and Lucy is soaking it all in!

Lucy has a very bright future.  She still has lots to learn, so needs a patient forever home that is willing to work with her slowly to alleviate her fears and prove that there are loving people out there who will adore her.

Due to Lucy's past, a fully fenced and secure yard is required so that she can be safe if something scares her.  She is not accustomed to walking on a leash, so apartment/condo living is not in her immediate future.  Lucy wants desperately to play with a well-adjusted & gentle dog sibling so a home with another dog is required. As Lucy's confidence is growing, her Schnauzer personality is starting to shine!  One of those traits is that she barks.  She barks when she's happy, when she's excited, if someone new comes in the home, and on occasion just because she can.  Typical Schnauzer, in all their wonderful glory!

Think you have the patience and endurance to work with Lucy and love her in spite of her fears?  I assure you, she is well worth the effort & will give back ten-fold (eventually!).

Our Adoption Process...

In order to adopt from us, you need to complete an adoption application. Follow this link

Once the application is completed, it will be reviewed for suitability, and if yes, we will book a telephone interview with you, and check the veterinary and personal references that you provided. If that goes well, a home visit will be booked, and if your home is safe, the adoption can proceed. You will be required to execute and adoption contract and pay a set adoption fee
