Hugo's Story...
Can’t you just picture this big beautiful mush of a dog laying on your couch? HUGO is such a handsome and friendly pooch. He’s only 2 years old and 75 pounds! Several words come to mind when describing sir HUGO. Loveable, goofy, friendly, master of the head tilt… shall I go on? OK—since you asked…. HUGO loves the kiddos and is super dog friendly. He does not have a mean bone in that big body! He does enjoy a game of “chase the cat” so we would suggest a cat and small critter free zone. He is a big and strong, but oh so sweet guy . Hugo needs a home with someone who is experienced with hound dogs. HUGO is smart, housetrained and good looking— a rare find right ladies?!? He will keep you laughing and be your best friend forever. HUGO is neutered, up to date with shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $375. We require a fully fence yard not invisible fence. To apply please go to gimmeshelteranimalrescue.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hugo, a Sagaponack Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound for sale in Sagaponack, or seeking a Coonhound dog from a breeder in Sagaponack.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sagaponack already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sagaponack breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound breeders who help with Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sagaponack paves the way for another one to be saved.
