One Eyed Jack's Story...
I am so glad to be at FieldHaven, whew! I've had a hard life up to now, but I am ready for my furrever home. I was a neighborhood cat who had a terrible eye infection, and my rescuer couldn't persuade my owner to get me veterinary care. So finally I had to have my damaged eye removed and the family did not want me back. My rescuer already had 8 cats of her own so I came to FieldHaven. I would do well in a home with a family and with other cats. My rescuer says I'm friendly, loving and talkative at times. Occasionally I can get cranky, but that's to be expected with an older boy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

One Eyed Jack, a Lincoln Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Lincoln, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Lincoln.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lincoln already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lincoln breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lincoln paves the way for another one to be saved.
