My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Madyson is one of our sweet senior Hound dogs that is available for adoption. She was brought to our Humane Society as a stray in July 2016. No one ever called missing her and so now she is ready to be placed into a new loving home. We believe she is 8-10 years old.

Madyson enjoys going for walks with our shelter staff members, and plays outdoors with other dogs. Her best friends here are Desmond and Doss, the 2 older male Beagles and she really likes hanging out with them. She is tolerant and respectful of the shelter cats here. We do not know if she has ever lived with young children, and she seems most comfortable around kids 8 years and older.

Madyson is obsessed with stuffed animals and likes to collect them and nap with them on her dog bed. She is active, and enjoys walks on leash on our dog trail. She will need to be kept on a leash, or in a tall fenced yard outdoors because she will run off like most hounds do.

She has already been spayed, and is up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. Madyson had tested positive for heartworm in August 2016 but she has since received 4 months of treatment with a veterinarian and has finally tested negative. She will need to be kept on monthly heartworm preventative for the rest of her life to prevent her heart from having to go through another treatment again.
