My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WE ADOPT ONLY IN THE GREATER ST. LOUIS AREA.

Olive is just 3 years old and a sweet beautiful Black-Headed Tricolor Corgi girl. Olive was not socialized as a puppy, and  did not leave her home very often. As a result, Olive can be wary of unfamiliar people and new situations.  She may bark at strangers, and may need to meet new people a few times before she is comfortable.  With a little patience and a few cookies, Olive will come out of her shell.  Once she knows you, she becomes a loving, affectionate girl.  She enjoys belly rubs and giving kisses.  While she has not shown interest in toys, she does chew on a Nylabone from time to time.  She was a few pounds overweight when she came into rescue, so she continues to work on her figure through diet and exercise.  She is a curious little girl, and the highlight of her day is taking a walk. True to the Corgi breed, she is intelligent, and easily trained.  She is currently working on a few basic commands in her foster home.  She is house trained, crate trained, and sleeps quietly in her crate at night next to her foster mom’s bed.  Due to her lack of socialization, and given the fact that she can be bossy with other dogs,  it would be best for Olive to be the only dog in the home.  She can also startle quite easily and may like to chase, so we are also recommending that she not be placed in a home with young children. Olive is healthy, happy girl who is always eager to please her family.

Olive is up-to-date on vaccines, heart-worm tested negative, spayed, and micro-chipped. A fenced yard is required. We do not adopt to families with young children or electronic fences. Her adoption fee is $300.00. For more information email claireelizabeth@petssecondchance.org.  WE ONLY ADOPT IN THE GREATER ST. LOUIS AREA.
