Facts about Stetson

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix

  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 11161723-2017-2258K
Stetson was turned in to the shelter by his owner, along with his buddies, Sampson and Sadie. Stetson has a congenital defect that has caused abnormal growth of bones in his right front leg that has caused an abnormality. The abnormality is very visible and it causes him to limp, but this does not affect this wonderful boy's amazingly sweet personality. Stetson is a very affectionate boy, he loves his treats, and he needs a home in which he will be treated with compassion and consideration of his limitations. He may do ok on long walks, but he probably wouldn't make a very good jogging buddy. Stetson is a very good dog and he deserves a chance to live and love. There is no stray hold on this sweet boy, so he is ready to go to his new forever home.

About Athens-Limestone Animal Shelter

On Saturdays we are open from 9 AM to 12 PM

Our Adoption Process...

The fee for adopting a dog is $110.00, no matter the age or gender of the pet. This fee covers the cost of the animal to be spayed/neutered & vaccines: DA2PP, Bordatella, and Rabies. The adoption fee also covers a fecal exam for worms and a heart worm test!

The fee for cats is $110.00 covers spay/neuter, and age appropriate vaccines.

It is very important that you understand that you CANNOT take pets from the shelter and breed them. Most of the animals came in as strays, therefore, we do not have any background or genetic information on them. Breeding these pets would not be in their best interest nor yours. Also, a Law was just passed in Alabama which requires that EVERY animal, adopted from a shelter, MUST be spayed or neutered!!
