Meet Jack, a 70 pound, 5 year old Rottweiler mix who has a sad story to share with you. As you can see from the one picture, Jack is tied to a tree. That is how Jack lived for 5 years. He had no shelter but this tree, through the rain, snow, and temperatures in the single digits. His owner never even provided him with a blanket while she lived in her warm home. There was also a dog named Sugar tied to another tree, but she has since been adopted. Imagine everyday waking up on a 3-4 foot chain, with nothing to do but huddle next to a tree.
Lucky for Jack and Sugar, a rescuer heard about their situation and went to see these loving dogs. Their owner no longer wanted these two dogs and happily gave them to the rescuer. Even though Jack was limited to his exposure to people in his past life, he is a very nice boy. He is not aggressive at all, and loves people. Jack also gets along with other dogs, and is being taught to walk on a leash.
Jack is presently at a boarding facility and they said he is doing great! Jack now has been neutered and fully vetted, and will be arriving on March 30th.
If ever a dog deserved a chance at a home and family, it would be Jack. Please fill out an application on Jack today, and give him a home where he finally will be loved and cared for. If you can't adopt Jack, please consider fostering him so that he can learn how wonderful it is to actually live inside a home!
