Manny's Story...
Manny is just the cutest little schnauzer/terrier mix. He is approx 4-5 years and 16 lbs. He gets along well with the other dogs, but can be a little feisty around food, or if the other dogs get in his face. He likes to run and play with dogs, and loves people. He will follow you everywhere. He seems to be well house trained and does well on a leash. He tested positive for heartworms and has been treated with the required series of injections, and he has been started on a monthly heat worm preventative.

The total adoption donation of $525 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. We also provide a coupon for a free wellness visit to the South Wilton Vet group if convenient for you. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Norwalk already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Norwalk breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
