My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PRBCR adopts to homes in NC, SC, and GA. The adoption fee is $250.00, we do a home visit, and vet reference. Please complete application at www.prbcr.org

We let Jolene write her last biography and she got lots of inquiries and visits but none were the perfect forever home for her; close, but no cigar. Now we will try our hand at describing our friend and companion, Miss Jolene. Jolene is a two-year old female blue-Merle full blooded Border Collie with all the bells and whistles. She has the biggest blue eyes, is smart, completely house trained, spayed, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, UTD on all vaccines, walks well on lead, rides well in car, swims like a fish and cuddles like a Teddy Bear. She is a bit underweight at 31 pounds but eats well so her high energy level just keeps the weight off. Jolene plays well with inside or outside toys, great with Frisbee, quick as a whip and plays and plays and plays. We go for long walks in the woods and she loves to run free but never out of sight and her recall is excellent. Jolene is just a lot of fun to be with. Jolene tolerates our other dogs but doesn't really want to play with them. Many potential homes had to pass on Jolene because there just was no dynamics with the home dog. Jolene will not make a good pet for a pet. She will chase after the dogs when they are fetching a ball and attempt to keep the ball from being returned which at least provides exercise. Jolene is a dog who would rather be with people and sticks like glue once she accepts you as her friend. Jolene is also a dog that requires lots of physical and mental exercise. She is happiest when she is working with her favorite human whether walking, playing or doing tricks. She is currently living with a dog-savvy cat with no problems Jolene does not like loud sounds or loud humans as the noise seems to offend her sensitive nature. Children under the age of ten are loud, look and sound a lot like sheep, and don't like to be herded so create a problem with Jolene and should be avoided. A fenced yard would be nice for her safety but no invisible fences. Jolene has a little anxiety when she is separated from her human but is not destructive, she just goes to her "safe" spot and waits for your return. Jolene is a princess so has been spoiled and treated like royalty all her life. That must not change. She will nap on the couch or sleep in the bed when she gets the notion but gets down when she is told or if she feels uncomfortable and retreats to her own bed. She is very respectful of others in bed but what a way to wake up for as you stir she is sitting there looking at you with those gorgeous eyes waiting for the new adventures to come. Please visit the website at www.prbcr.org If you would like to learn more about Jolene please contact us as we love to brag on her. Jolene is being fostered near Burlington, NC
