My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Available for adoption to experienced pet owners only (no first time dog ownership). German Shepherd/ working dog/ "difficult" dog breed owners preferred.
Name: Kiara
Breed: Purebred German Shepherd
Age: 5 (2017)
Sex: Female
Temperament: Friendly
Weight: 72lbs
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Yes, Kiara showed no reaction to an adult cat and kitten when tested.
Good with Children: Yes, has been around ages 3 months+

Many people have asked about her eyes. Kiara as born with a birth deformity known as Cerebellar Hypoplasia. It is the underdevelopment of the cerebellum, where the tissue is not completely mature at birth. This section of the brainstem is largely responsible for motor impulses. Kiara's is minor and she tends to tap her feet and dance when excitable. Although she has this congenital defect, she is very smart and her disease does not prevent her from living and long and healthy life.
We were told by previous owner that she did receive some professional training at one point in time.
We would love someone who can give a LIFETIME commitment to Kiara. Anyone with experience with German Shepherds is the most ideal applicant.

All dogs coming from Peach County Animal Rescue are spayed/neutered and vaccinated for Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella. Each dog is also heartworm tested and treated monthly with heartworm prevention. Our adoption fees range from $175-350+. On average, our fees are $250. Fees are higher for dogs that came to us with additional things like professional training (i.e. service dog, working dog). We look forward to hearing from you!
