My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Toby! Toby might be an old man at 14 years old, but he can keep up with the younger dogs on walks and with his family! Toby came to Broken Tail Rescue after his owner passed away. He is extremely friendly, is great with dogs and cats, and is very gentle around children. He is very skinny at around 8 pounds, and he is happily eating healthy dog food and treats in his foster home.

Toby is deaf, but most people that meet him don't realize it. He gets around his foster house perfectly fine - even up and down the flight of stairs. He loves to go outside for walks with his foster mom and will do anything for a dog treat. Toby is not housebroken, and so he wears a "belly band" in his foster home.

Toby is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations.

Toby is being fostered in Worcester, MA.

The adoption fee is reduced because of Toby's age.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
