We welcome specific questions. Due to high volume of applications, we may not be able to respond immediately. Your patience is appreciated.

If an animal is on our website, it is still available but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, it is in your best interest to submit an application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process.

We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.

As an all-volunteer, foster home based organization, ARF does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we must give priority to pre-approved applicants.

Hector is a fully grown 1 year old 85 pound German Shepherd / Malinois Mix.  He is very sleek and strong with gorgeous red hair.   Heck is VERY playful and happy and loving.   He loves to fetch balls and will bring the ball back.  He can catch his treats in the air, which is so much fun.    He knows Sit, Stay, Shake, and Come.   He can find hidden treats in a game.  He can be mouthy in a playful way , so a family with no  small children would be best (ARF recommends over 14).  Heck LOVES to ride in the car with his head out the window, and he gets lots of admiring glances when he does this.  Heck thinks he is a puppy and is very strong and physically active; he jumps into laps for hugs, when really he is too big for a lap.  He needs a real dog-person who can handle his strong puppy nature,  and get him the training to be a fabulous family dog.

Hector is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and neutered.  His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  Hector' s adoption fee is $250. A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Hector fill out an online application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If you’re invited to meet an animal, plan to arrive on time or early,
as we cannot hold animals.

All household members must be present at time of adoption, including dogs.

 We appreciate your cooperation.
