Melanie loves attention, seeks comfort in her human companion’s lap, she is super sweet and loving. When she is happy and content, Melanie produces the loudest purrs! Her biggest requirement is a window as she enjoys basking in the sun and watching the birds and butterflies. Melanie does not prefer the companionship of other cats or dogs, but if they make themselves invisible to her, she will tolerate them. Melanie has a front paw that is deformed in which the paw is twisted out of normal position. The outward angulation is known as ‘valgus.’ A veterinarian’s observation is it may be an injury that did not heal properly. Another possibility is a birth deformity. The deformity is cosmetic rather than causing pain and lameness. Melanie can walk and run. It is highly recommended that Melanie receive a supplement such as Cosequin. Melanie had a Senior Blood Panel in January 2017 that resulted in no diseases identified and Melanie is a healthy senior cat!
