My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a courtesy listing only for CUJO. This Doxie is NOT at Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. For information, please contact his current caretaker, Helen at (360) 789-8432 or helenhickey@outlook.com.

DOGGIE BIO:

CUJO is a very handsome brown, 8 year old, unaltered male Dachshund looking for a special, one of a kind forever home. You see, poor CUJO has had a bit of a rough 'go' recently. His human mom, to whom he was very bonded, died about a month ago. Her family, because they didn't fully understand his needs, was going to take him to the pound. Thankfully, he was taken in temporarily by a wonderful samaritan, his current caregiver, Helen.

Cujo will make the perfect Doxie companion to a single person that can be a stay at home parent (active retired or work from home). He enjoys walks, car rides and is leash trained. His greatest challenges seem to be that he is a one person Doxie. He just wants to share his love and affections with one person and seems to prefer females, According to his caretaker, Helen, he gets along well with other animals. Also, and this may be dominance related, Cujo is kennel trained but not fully house broken. Do you know a single woman looking to open her heart and home to this very special Doxie?

Unfortunately, ODR, Inc. is over-full and cannot take this little man in. If you or anyone you know can help, please share this email or contact his current caretaker, Helen at (360) 789-8432 or helenhickey@outlook.com.

Please note, this is a Courtesy Listing for a doxie that is NOT at Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. We are helping the owner find his new forever family. Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. has posted this dog as available for adoption or rescue intake as a courtesy accommodation to the dog's owner. Any and all information, photos, etc. have been provided by the dog's owner. Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. is not responsible for the accuracy of any of the information contained in this listing or any information that may have been omitted. Thank you!

ODR, INC. ADOPTION CRITERIA (aka Our Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria for dogs that we adopt and that we recommend to owners whose doxies we list courtesy posts for, the sole aim of which is to facilitate a successful adoption with a forever family.

*Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time?
*Have a securely fenced yard?
*We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and *Children need to be 12 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie).
*We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc). *Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog.

Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these or similar issues.

Thank you!
