Jolene, like the song says, is indeed beautiful and was the mother of six baby buns at a young age. The babies are weaned and will be ready for adoption once spayed and neutered. Miss Jolene is now ready to start her new life as a spayed house rabbit. She is gentle and a bit shy from her early neglected life, but loves head and cheek rubs.

About Alamo City House Rabbits

About Our Rescue Group...

Alamo City House Rabbits was started in October 2015 and exists to support those in the San Antonio area who share their home and life with rabbits as indoor companions. Domestic rabbits are intelligent and social animals that for too long have been misunderstood and confined to backyard hutches. They are the third most abandoned companion animal in the United States.

Alamo City House Rabbits promotes education and outreach to increase awareness of rabbits as spayed or neutered indoor-only pets. We fully support the philosophy and principles of the House Rabbit Society, a national companion rabbit advocacy and rescue group established in 1988.

Members of Alamo City House Rabbits act as fosterers for rescued rabbits during the time they are spayed/neutered, learn to use a litter box, and adjust to their new lives as indoor companions.

Come Meet Our Pets...

On the 2nd Saturday of each month from 12 pm to 4 pm, Alamo City House Rabbits hosts an adoption and education event at Pet Supplies Plus, 3133 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78217 (next to MacArthur High School). Come out and visit our adoptable rabbits. For all inquiries, our adoptions coordinator will be happy to answer your questions by email at

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters must fill out an application online and will receive a phone call from our adoptions coordinator within 24 hours. Following a get-to-know-you phone call, a visit with the adopter at their home will be arranged. (Please be advised the initial home visit is not a binding agreement that guarantees the adoptable rabbit will be placed with you.)

The cost for adoption is $90 for single rabbits / $125 for bonded pairs. This price includes all wellness exams, any necessary medical treatment, and the spay/neuter surgery.
