My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JADA is an adorable puppy who was found running in the country with another female dog. A man concerned for her safety scooped her up and contacted the rescue for help. She is now safe in a foster home and will be undergoing the vetting needed to get her ready for adoption. She has been wormed and will receive a series of age-appropriate vaccinations. She will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption. She is too young to test for heartworm but will be kept on heartworm prevention once old enough. She is estimated to be 8 weeks old and weighs 5.6 pounds. The vet thinks she is a Plott Hound/Shar Pei mix so we expect she will be a medium-sized dog once fully grown. The vet found a heart murmur that he says will need to be checked and monitored as Jada grows. The volunteers who have met her say she is a doll! If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Jada if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer rescue to cover at least part of the cost of the veterinary care this dog has received.
