My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Annie is a special case. She is approx 8-9 yrs old and she has had a hard life up until now. She came to us from a kill shelter in a rural part of FL and when we got her she was on the brink of death from starvation and liver failure. In fact our veterinarian instructed us to put her down after looking at her blood work numbers, but something in our hearts said that she needed a chance and so we sat with her, held her. loved her and told her she would make it and after 3 months she was bright eyed and ready to find a home. We made sure she was getting all the meds and nutrition possible and she came back. Now 6 months later we are posting her for adoption, hoping that there is someone out there who would like to take her into their heart and love her for the rest of her life. She is an active dog, runs out the door into the yard and chases the birds or anything that moves. She is in good weight and eats like a little pig. She has soooo much love to give. This dog will only be adopted to someone with a securely fenced yard. Underground fencing is NOT safe for a Jack Russell. It is required that the household have no small children (under 6) as terriers do NOT make good pets for households with very young children, and no small animals (cats, birds, ferrets, hamsters, etc.) as terriers were bred to hunt and can kill small animals. Jack Russell terriers are not suited to apartment or condo life, and it would be unwise to expect them to be anything other than what they were bred to be. The hunting instincts and prey drive cannot be trained out of these terriers and they will stay active in this way all their lives, even up to 15 to 16 years old and older.
