This Schnauzer sweetheart is Cleo and she is Texas born and bred. She is a 11 year old Miniature Schnauzer and weighs 18 lbs. Cleo has natural ears and a docked tail and is trusted to roam the house during the day where she lounges on the sofa in her special dog bed. She is outgoing, friendly, always happy and has a very lovable nature. Cleo LOVES to cuddle with her foster parents and go on walks around the neighborhood or take rides in the car. Being a typical girl, she enjoys shopping too! She happily rides around in the shopping cart while browsing the store aisles. This little lady makes friends everywhere she goes. She would prefer to be the center of attention as an only pup but is cat friendly. Like many senior pups, she does have cataracts in both eyes that slightly impair her vision. Even though she is considered a senior, Cleo is extremely playful! Her favorite activities include fetch and tossing her stuffed squeaky toys up in the air to chase. Her cute antics make her foster parents laugh watching her entertain herself with toys. Cleo is part of HOPE's focused senior animal program that includes a discounted adoption fee for senior citizens (age 65+) adopting a senior pet. A retired individual who would enjoy her lively personality and endless cuddles would be ideal for this little gal! If you are interested in Cleo and would like to fill out an application, go to: Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt Cleo, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. If you have questions prior to filling out an application, email us at and a volunteer will get back to you.

About HOPE (Homeless & Orphaned Pets Endeavor)

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission is to end the homelessness of cats and dogs through foster to adoption, feral cat Trap-Neuter-Return, and education.

HOMELESS & ORPHANED PETS ENDEAVOR (HOPE) is an all-foster, no kill adoption group based in the Houston area.

HOPE covers the cost of general medical expenses for the animals in the program, such as altering, routine vaccinations and treatment for parasites. Our foster families are asked to provide food, shelter and love to the animals for which they care. They receive no payment for the services that they provide. Without them, and the other volunteers who so selflessly do what is necessary to keep HOPE afloat, it would not be possible to run this nonprofit corporation.

One aim of HOPE is to develop a network of area rescue and humane organizations which will facilitate the rescue and placement of a variety of animals. The goal is to never have to turn away an animal in need. By forming a coalition of humane and rescue groups in the Houston area, we could potentially place all animals who need a temporary home until they are placed into a permanent one.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Mobile adoption sessions are held on the weekends. All adoption sessions run from 12:00 - 4:00 pm at a variety of locations and days as noted on our website For more information, please contact us at

Our Adoption Process...

Adopting an animal is a very serious decision and we want to be sure that our potential adoptive families have thought about the impact of this decision carefully. To adopt an animal through HOPE, we request that you complete an Adoption Application, a copy of which is available online for cats at or for dogs at You may fill it out online or print a copy of the application and complete it prior to arriving at an adoption session. This will expedite the adoption process and will also assist our adoption counselors in matching you to a suitable pet.

We at HOPE make every effort to match our foster pets to appropriate homes. If you feel that we are too intrusive, please understand that it is because we care about their welfare.

All animals are neutered or spayed and have received age appropriate shots prior to being adopted. We ask that you provide a $100 donation for cats and a donation of $150 for dogs when you adopt your new family member from us. This donation helps us in defraying the costs of these and other medical needs of our animals.
