Introducing Lucha. At only 3 years old, Lucha is already quite the adventurer. Her mom was picked up as a stray in the Dominican Republic and had a litter of puppies in the house of her rescuer. Lucha was the runt of the litter. She spent two years living with her mother and they loved to play and chase one another. When it came time for her caretaker to come back to the United States, she couldn't bear to leave her behind! Now she is in the US and ready to find her own forever home. Lucha can be a little timid upon first meeting, but will relax and greet you once she is comfortable. She loves to play with toys and enjoys going for a walk or run! Her favorite game to play with her humans is tug of war! She is used to being left for up to 8 hours and is well behaved in the house. She has been observed to be good around older, mellow dogs. She will curl up on her favorite blanket or spend time in a crate waiting for her people to return. She is housetrained and quiet. She can be a little possessive with her food, but this has improved with training and can be easily managed. Lucha is a sweet dog who would make an amazing family member. About Senior Dog Haven & Hospice, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, dedicated group of fosters and volunteers. We strive to improve the lives of senior dogs who find themselves without a family to care for them anymore. We do not have a facility. Our dogs live in our homes as members of our families. We provide care, comfort, companionship and, most of all, unconditional love. We have worked in senior rescue for years, and see the continuing and growing need to get them out of shelters where they are often euthanized because of their age and/or medical reasons, or from owners that find themselves in crisis and no longer able to care for their companions (nursing home, illness, abusive situations, etc).

Senior Dog Haven and Hospice is a registered 501(c)3. All donations to our rescue are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
