My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name?
The best doggie in the whole wide world, aka Batman...but Mugsy for short!
How old are you?
A real man needs no age! For my cuteness will last forever! But....I'm about 3 years old.
How much do you weigh?
My foster mom says my head is 20lbs. I think i'm around 45 pounds all together.
What do you look like?
Batman. I am the bat!!
What do you like to eat?
I love to eat everything. Well, not shoes or anything. I only like dog and people food. I love treats too, I'll try to do anything for a treat!
What kind of personality do you have?
Well...I'm kind, gentle, loving, sweet, cuddly and a little hyper. Throw it all together and...I'm batman!
Describe your perfect day:
Pretending to be batman with my two legged foster sister. She's 4 and loves to play with me. So I pretend to be batman and we save the world together. How many dog super hero's do you know?! Well, you know 1 now! My perfect day is saving the world on a nice walk, at the park or in the living room. I even enjoy wearing clothes for these adventures!
What is your favorite toy?
My favorite toy is my cow knuckle thingy. Foster mom says it's gross looking but man I love chewing on it all day long. Though...I am learning how to play tug of war but I'm not big on tugging, I rather do hugging.
Do you know any tricks?
I know how to sit, I'm learning shake, and I'm so low to the ground I don't like to lay down unless it's on my back for belly rubs.
What scares you?
Spraying a hose at me...water is cold! But I enjoy baths. Oh! Loud sounds...Because I'm batman i'm sensitive to loud sounds and they scare me.
Have you been around children? Do you like them?
YES!!!! I LOVE KIDS!!!! Especially when they give me belly rubs!!!
Do you like cats?
Cat's are cool. I like to watch them, play with them and cuddle. But I learned the hard way that them hissing means they don't want to play anymore. So I leave them alone when they tell me to now.
How do you feel about other dogs?
I love other dogs too. In fact, I just love everyone, because I'm Batman.
If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
On the couch of my new forever family, cuddling while watching batman.
How is your health?
Amazing! I just get out of breath and can't do super long walks because my nose is all squished up like a bat's.
Who do you live with your foster home and who is your closest companion?
So I live with my foster mom, dad and sister. Then I have 4 other roommates, two dogs and two cats. They are all really cool. Except the old cat, he's grumpy. But he's grumpy to everyone so I leave him alone.
Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
In my bat cave (kennel), it's my favorite place. Even if it's open and everyone is home some times I'll go lay in it on my back and snore.
Where do you sleep?
In my bat cave.
Do you like walking on a leash?
YES! I walk very well and close to you on the leash. I don't pull or tug. I'm batman, I don't need to tug!
Do you have any "not-so-great" habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard?
I don't bark, like almost ever. Batman has no need for barking. But I do try to fly like batman. I jump up and sometimes miss where I'm going...so I fly. Or glide...It's falling with style. But I'm getting better at jumping. I now know to sit and look adorable, then I get attention instead of jumping. Oh...and...I'm batman so I hog all the treats...I'm learning not to steal them fro my dog friends. I'm not mean about it, I'm just Batman and they are slow.
Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside)
Of course, Batman is potty trained so I am too!
Do you like water?
I don't mind it...bat's don't swim so well and it's too cold to try but I do enjoy my baths.
What do you love about your foster family?
They help me save Gotham City all the time, then give me tons of cuddles.
What was your life like before being brought into NorCal Bully Breed Rescue?
Well...I was left alone in the shelter. No one came for me. I just wanted love so I jumped a lot and don't realize how big my head is sometimes...but it was dark and scary out there. No one helped me learn what love and attention was. They were scared because I am Batman, but they didn't know the truth about how loving and cuddly I am. But then NorCal Bully Breed came...and every super hero has a tragic start...but now I can spread my bat wings and fly into your forever home!

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Mugsy's adoption donation is $200.

Interested in meeting Mugsy or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
