Mia the Chia's Story...
Mia was born about December 12, 2005 and weighs about 14 lbs. She is with us due to her elderly human having to leave her home. She is adorable and will 'sit pretty' and loves treats when she does and she is a major snuggler. She loves soft blankets and snuggling in them, especially when chilly. She also loves to go for walks. Mia has not had much exposure to children and we feel she would do best in a home without little kids. She has always had a dog friend and just like us humans there are times when you loose someone and have to find a new best friend and that is the case here. We hope to find a home where there is another dog that would like a friend, but even more important is that she has always had a human home most of the time and we feel strongly she does need this again. We are told she is house trained, but we always warn that these tiny dogs may need a potty floor pad handy for just in case. Mia is good on leash and loves car rides. We are told she will hang with you while outside doing your chores. She is a cutie and will be a wonderful companion for an adult home on the quieter side. Update from Mia with a bit of help from her foster mom:
Hi everyone! I'm Mia and I have been in my foster home for two full days and this is what I have learned about myself!
First of all, once I learned where the doors were, my people let me out and I go potty out side! Woo hoo! My people think 'Outside' is the key word for me to know that I need to go out and do my business!! They have not figured out my language for me asking to go out, so they just let me out every 2 hours or so, or after I eat or drink a lot! I absolutely LOVE to snuggle in blankets and these people here make sure I am snuggled in my crate at night and when the people leave me to go to work for a few hours each day. They do let me up on the furniture when they come home, and they do help me up if I act like I need help. They also provide awesome snuggle blankets!
I must admit, when they do try to pick me up I may show my teeth at first, I'm just adjusting to new people. I'm homeless and 11 for gosh sakes! My foster mom just takes it in stride, and puts me where I want to go! She's just trying to be totally honest. I love it when she calls my name, and I do come when she calls me.
I'm an old lady, and I would LOVE a new home and will be totally loyal as long as you give me a few days to understand you and get used to how you do things. I'm great with other dogs, but I would not love a home with kids because I am old and very much set in my ways. I love my snuggles, and blankets, and I will cherish all of the love and cuddles you would give to me. Won't you please consider me if you are looking for a snuggly lover? I won't let you down.
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $125.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.
