My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Miss Lola!! Her story there, while sad, is not that different from many, many other dogs. She came into the shelter last fall, and over a period of 3 1/2 months, had many occasions to visit the vet. She was in poor physical condition when she came in, and had skin conditions that needed to be treated. Then she had digestive issues with blood in her stool, which was then treated. After she recovered from that, she had an upper respiratory infection, which she was treated for. Somewhere along the way, it was determined that she was pregnant, and had a spay/abort. She was apparently attacked by run mates on numerous occasions, and treated for puncture wounds to her legs, and then to her face. Ahhhh … the life of a shelter dog.

And then, magically, she was adopted in late November - yay!! But not for long, because in February, her adopter decided to move with her mother out of state, and her mother dictated that "the pit can't go". Ahhh … back to the shelter for this girl.

But guess what?? When we met this lovely little girl, and took her outside to temperament test her, she was so happy she was almost giddy!! She is a tiny bit overweight — well, okay … more than a tiny bit — and watching her do her little "chubby girl zoomies" around the yard was fantastic, and hilarious!! She loves toys … she loves snuggles … she loves attention! And we loved her! So when she passed, we were thrilled to tell her that all that bad stuff, and short term homes, was behind her!

Lola is a beautiful rich mahogany color, with short little legs, and the cutest little floppy ears. We believe her to be a pit mixed with maybe a beagle, based on her head shape and her ears. Nonetheless, she's 100% adorable, and we are sure that if you meet her, you will love her too!!
