Sequoia came back as his new owner recently lost his previous dog and wasn't ready for another dog. His owner shared the following notes:
Sequoia is a good looking older pup and is very active for his age. He likes to be with people, to get petted and makes everyone he meets his friend. He loves to retrieve so he would like a fenced yard so he can pursue his passion. Sequoia has never met a person he didn’t like. He still enjoys playing and hiking. He loves to go for car rides. If he sees you at the car he will sit and wait for a long while waiting to be let inside. If you are leaving with him for a ride, just let him hop in first and he will happily wait for you. He rides like a perfect gentleman in the car and wags his tail when people approach. He is completely house broken and sleeps well through the night. He doesn't need a crate and doesn't like one but will go in as long as you don't close the door. If the door is left open, you will find that he goes in there on his own from time to time. Thank you for caring for the Old Boy. He is a great dog. I was just not ready for another dog yet.
Sequoia will make some family very happy.
UPDATE: Sequoia went to his foster home last night and after he checked out the lay of the neighborhood on a quick walk, he settled in for a nap on the couch. He's getting along well with the two small dogs in the house (even the sometimes grouchy one), and loves affection from the humans and having a lap to snore on.
