Houdini has come a long way. Born in 2003, he was originally rescued from the flood waters of Hurricane Katrina and came to Best Friends through another rescue organization.
Shy and fearful of people at first, Houdini has learned that new friends are good, and that they often have treats. He likes to go for walks and is a perfect gentleman on a leash.
Though he's in good health overall, Houdini takes medication for arthritis and some joint issues. He doesn't need much these days; a nap in the sun, or a quick dip in the pond makes him quite happy. But most of all, he'd love to experience a safe and loving home of his own.
Should you visit Houdini and decide he's the perfect fit for you, he has a generous sponsor who will pay for his trip home.
