Dahlia's Story...

Dahlia has the ability to melt your heart with a single glance. She was born in 2004 and had a home for the first 10 years of her life until her beloved person passed away. Coming to the Sanctuary has been a big change for her. It can take her a few minutes to warm up to a new face, but she acclimates quickly. Once she's decided you're OK, she's very affectionate. She likes to be held and sit on laps, and will give you head butts. She seems to be overwhelmed with the number of cats here at the Sanctuary, but we're sure she'd do fine in a home with fewer cats. She would love to have her own person again and is sure to greet you at the door to her new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dahlia, a Kanab Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Kanab, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Kanab.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kanab already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kanab breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kanab paves the way for another one to be saved.
