Facts about Pacino

  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 34830021

This is Pacino. The before picture (with the e-collar) is of this sweetheart after he was dumped (by his owners) at Chicago Animal Control. He was allowed to be an outdoor cat, not neutered, and came home injured one day. The owners no longer wanted him and dumped him at a high kill shelter. Perhaps they didn't know that owner surrenders are the first to be euthanized...

Pacino is the luckiest kitty ever. Not only was he injured, but he tested positive for FeLV (feline leukemia virus). A very, very special soul saw him and rescued him. Hundreds of dollars were spent to get this boy's injuries tended to, get him vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and back in good health!

Pacino is, hands down, one of the sweetest and most affectionate cats ever. He is extremely sociable and loveable. He makes such a wonderful companion.

Because of the leukemia (which is contagious to other cats, but NOT to dogs, humans or any other critters), he needs to be the only kitty in the home, or in a home with other FeLV+ kitties.

It is imperative he be an indoor only cat, fed a nutritious diet and some immune supporting supplements, which will help to keep his immune system healthy and strong. He is around 2 years old, and so full of love and life.

He deserves the best home ever!

WE DO NOT ALLOW OUR CATS OR KITTENS TO BE DECLAWED!!!! Declawing is an owner convenience and serves no benefit to the cat. If you adopt a kitten/kitten and we find out it has been declawed, not only will you lose your spay/neuter refund, but we have the right to reclaim the cat.

About ABRA, Inc (All Breed Rescue Angels)

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a foster style rescue. Our pets live with us, so we know more about them than the average shelter. We have a variety of homes that include other dogs, cats, kids, etc.

Spaying and neutering is the absolute best way to curb pet overpopulation. We believe in low cost spay and neuter and can provide info on low cost surgeries.

We also believe pet nutrition and vaccine awareness can keep your best friend healthy for life. Our fosters are fed high quality food. We encourage people to explore the nutritional value of pet food and make the best decision for their pets.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoptions start with an application and approval process. Most of our adult dogs have an adoption fee of $250, regardless of how much medical attention they have received (some of them cost us substantially more than that, all of our rescues are thoroughly vetted and treated for any illness before being adopted out). You must be 21 adopt from us.

We prefer a fenced in yard but it's not required. All people in the household must be present for adoption and we request that you at least spend 45 minutes with the pet of your choice before making the commitment to take them home

EVERY adoption includes spay or neuter. Check around; not everyone includes the price of surgery, even if it's required. Our donation for dogs also includes: first shots, heartworm test if over 6 months, and rabies shot (at time of surgery if too young). Most are also microchipped. Cats come with surgery cost included, first shots, FIV test, and nail trim. We do NOT allow our cats to be declawed!
