Goofy, Playful, Entertaining Macadamia is a fun-loving kitty who also enjoys a good nap! She likes to play with toys, especially batting at wand toys! Sometimes Macadamia can be nervous about being approached by new people, but she warms up quickly and loves to be petted gently. She isn't a lap cat but lets you pick her up. Like many kitties, her favorite activity of all is napping! Although Macadamia does get along with other cats - she is curious about them and wants to sniff them - she prefers to be the queen cat in the household and sometimes asserts her dominance with bops (especially if another cat gets too close to her food). Macadamia hasn't been in a home with children but would likely acclimate to older kids as long as she felt secure. We haven't seen her around dogs so we have no idea, but we suspect she would try to boss a dog around! Macadamia is quirky and endearing! She will charm you with her antics, win you over with her silly personality, and keep you entertained. Her ideal home would probably be with people who would play with her, adore her, understand her completely, cater to her every whim...you know how cats are. Contact us today to meet sweet Macadamia. She's a nut! Macadamia is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus), which causes a weakened immune system and requires special care. APA! provides some medical assistance after adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan. She is not contagious to people or dogs, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats. For more information, please contact APA! or read more by our Partner, Best Friends Animal Society: http://bestfriends.org/Resources/FAQs-About-Feline-Leukemia-Virus-FeLV All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Macadamia, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.
