Dolly's Story...
Hi I'm Dolly. A girl’s not supposed to tell her age but let’s just say I’m somewhere around 9 or so. Don’t think that makes me always an old lady though! I still love to sprint around with my foster brothers and sister and I can almost keep up with them. I like it when my foster mom chases me too! I also like walks, mostly to sniff, ‘cause I’m a beagle after all! Of course, I do love to lounge in the sun and cuddle in my humans’ arms the rest of the time. I really like soft blankies too! I hate cold weather, so I wear warm sweaters when it’s cold out or it’s too hard to do my lady business while I’m shivering! I’m house trained and crate trained, but need to go out a number of times a day to play and go, and I’d much rather sleep in a warm bed with my blankets! And did I mention, I’m proud to be a beagle? I do have the classic beagle sound so apartment living may not be best for me. Oh, and I’d love a fenced in yard since I got lost at least once in my life already! I really like other nice doggies and maybe even cats! I’m sure I like kids but I’m a bit fragile now so they would have to be older and know how to be gentle with me. I’m spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. My adoption fee is $200. If you think I could be a fit for your family you can apply here: https://rescueofhope.com/adopt ion-application/.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dolly, a Grand Rapids Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
