Queenie's Story...
Hey there, I'm Queenie. I'm a sweet little ball of fluff loving life now that I'm living in a foster home. My foster home consists of a crew of fun male and female canine friends. Some are more playful than others but I respect them all. I'm very gentle with the older ones in the crew but me and my bff Harry love to play in the backyard. I'm certainly not a high energy dog, but I love to romp around the yard and find a sunny spot to lay down in. I have gone on a few adventures with my foster mom and I do really well riding in the car with just her or my canine friends. Whenever new guests come to visit, I'm very friendly when I greet them, and I love to be petted. I don't have accidents in the house and I'm really good about not messing up the house while my mom is at work. I sleep on a little dog bed in my foster mom's room, but sometimes I sneak onto the bed and cuddle with everyone. I can't wait to find my forever home and find the sunniest spot in the backyard to tan my fluffy little white head.

All of our pets start their journey in Memphis Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted.

In order to qualify for ALIVE’s program all of the following steps must be met: • You must be at least 24 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age. • Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided. • If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease. • All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed. • Allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog or cat. • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet. • Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog over 4 months of age is $250.00, a dog under 4 months of age is $275.00 and a cat is $150.00. •

Our adoption application can be found at

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you submit an application immediately to start the adoption process. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, ALIVE Rescue Memphis is operated 100% by volunteers. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well educated decision from well qualified staff.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Queenie, a Memphis Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Memphis, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Memphis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Memphis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Memphis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Memphis paves the way for another one to be saved.
