My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pete is a hound about 5 to 6 years old who came into our rescue from a rural shelter as a stray. He was very emaciated and tested positive for Heartworms. We have had him several months getting him healthy and he has undergone heartworm treatment. He is now ready for adoption and looking for a forever home . He is a gentle gaint weighing at 50lbs now. Pete loves running and playing with other dogs. He can jump a 4ft chain link fence with ease. We are looking for a home with a 6ft fence (which he doesn't try to jump at his foster's home). He is a very sweet and a loving guy. Pete loves attention and to be petted. He does well in a crate. He is learning house manners at the fosters home. He sometimes like to counter surf looking for food but he is doing better with that now that he knows that he doesn't have to worry about where his next meal is coming from. Pete also likes to play with doggie toys and loves to chew on a nylabone when in the house or crate. We would love to see Pete get a loving forever home that he deserves.

Adoption events are every Saturday, excluding holidays, at the Petco located at 11331 W. Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA (next to Trader Joe’s) from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
