Facts about Dobbie

  • Breed: Dachshund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
**Dobbie is currently being fostered in Houston. His adoption will be long-distance, meaning that meeting him in person prior to his adoption will not be possible. His adoption fee is $500USD, which covers his flight, kennel, and he is fully vetted. Unfortunately, because the flights are so expensive, the adoption fee is non-negotiable.**

Dobbie wandered up all alone to a worksite in Houston. We thought for sure some family was missing their scruffy little man, but after waiting a week and looking for signs, nobody came looking for him. We aren’t sure how he got there, but we are sure going to find him the most amazing forever family!

Dobbie is a roughly 2 year-old Dachshund/Terrier Mix. He is around the 12-pound mark and fully grown. He is a medium activity kind of guy, so we think he would be great either in a home with a yard or in an apartment setting as long as his family is committed to proper exercise. While he does not currently live with children, his personality is such that we believe he would be great for a family with children who know how to be respectful of animals.

Dobbie currently lives with other dogs ranging from an 8 pound Chihuahua to an 50-pound hound mix and he does well with all of them. He also lives with some kitty friends and leaves them to their space. Dobbie would be great as an addition to a home with other animals or as a bachelor dog.

Dobbie’s ideal family will understand that dogs can take time to acclimate to their new home and life, which could include having accidents, chewing, crying in the kennel, and just adjusting in general.
Dobbie’s family will also be adding him to their family to be an integral part of their life and planning to keep him as an inside pet. We do not adopt dogs out that will be kept as outside dogs. He should never be left alone unattended outside for extended periods of time - for example the entire workday.

Dobbie is fully vetted (neutered, microchipped, vaccinated) and has no health or allergy issues that we are currently aware of.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application via our website If you hover over the adoptables tab, the link to the application will appear.

About Reggie's Friends- Seattle

About Our Rescue Group...

Reggie’s Friends was founded out of our love for helping dogs. Living in a city of 1.2 million homeless animals, there was rarely a day when we didn’t see a dog in need of help. Instead of just wanting to do something, we figured out how to do something! Reggie’s Friends is dedicated to the health and welfare of dogs in and around the greater Houston, TX area. We focus our attention on helping shelter dogs, street dogs, and dogs who have been abandoned in boarding facilities find loving, forever families. We live and love by our motto #StreetLifeToSweetLife!

Our Adoption Process...

90% of our adoptions are out-of-state adoptions, meaning meeting the pet prior to adoption is unfortunately not always a possibility. While a bit unconventional, we have adopted over 300 animals to amazing families in the past two years.

The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application. You can access our adoption application through our website at www.reggiesfriends.or. If you hover over the "Adoptables" tab, the application will appear.

Following the application, potential adopters are connected with the animal's foster family for a phone call, or more often, a video chat so that adopters can "meet" the animal and us!

The adoption fee for all dogs is $500, which helps to cover the cost of the flight, a new travel kennel, and their vet care expenses (vetting is completed prior to adoption). Animals will not be flown to their new families until the adoption contract and adoption fee is paid (in full).
