This cutie is Juneau! She is about 2 years old and is a spayed boxer mix. She has a happy-go-lucky attitude as is quite precious! Juneau is very smart - she is mostly house-trained, sleeps quietly in her kennel, knows how to sit, knows drop it, and is a great leash walker! Juneau used to live with children and was friendly and playful towards them. A home with children may be right up her alley - given that the children are respectful around dogs. Juneau has done well around most other dogs but has challenges around small livestock. Her favorite activity, aside from hanging out with her family, is playing with tennis balls! She also loves squeaky toys! We can't get enough of her great attitude!

About Michiana Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

The Michiana Humane Society has been helping our community's unwanted animals find homes for nearly 100 years. We believe that animals belong with families, and we do whatever we can to make that happen!

Come Meet Our Pets...

The shelter is currently open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for adoptions. You can find news of our activities on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MichianaHumaneSocietySPCA) or our website.

Our Adoption Process...

Looking for a dog or cat? Here's how we do adoptions at MHS. Come into the shelter and find the pet you want to add to your family. Fill out an application form and leave it at the front desk. Then you call us the next morning to find out if you're approved!

Once your adoption is approved, if the pet is already spayed or neutered you can come in, complete the adoption contract, and take your baby home.

If a spay or neuter is required, MHS will schedule it within the next week. Once your pet's surgery is complete, you can come in and pick up.

Adoption fees are $135 for dogs and $85 for cats. That includes all initial vaccinations (except rabies), spay or neuter if required, heartworm or feline leukemia testing, and flea treatments.
