This is Blazer (aka Major Blazer, aka Bumper). Standing at a proud 1.5 feet tall and weighing in at just over 18 lbs, he really is a dog quite like no other! He may be legally blind (ok he's missing his right eye entirely) but that doesn't seem stop his shine. You may occasionally catch him walking in circles or sometimes it may seem like he didn't realize that wall was there. However, he'll have you know, he meant to make those circles and he was just checking to make sure nobody moved that wall. Most importantly, nothing stops him from being a devoted companion. Truly, all he wants to do is snuggle up to his special person for as long as he can. Don't you want to be that person?
PS: It's important for him to share that he is not a fan of long walks on the beach, or long walks anywhere for that matter, but he loves staying in and cuddling up on the couch with a good dvd. Also, treats are very much appreciated.

About The Maryland SPCA

About Our Shelter...

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
