KAYOTE's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

KAYOTE's Story...

KAYOTE was saved from Texas where most dogs in the kill shelters have 3 days to be saved before they are killed. KAYOTE is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm and tick disease (SNAP 4DX) tested negative and micro-chipped. He has been estimated date of birth of 24 April 2016 and weighs around 5 pounds.

KAYOTE has clearly had a rough life, he has hair loss on his neck and can need reassurance. Once he knows that you can be trusted, he is a very happy loving boy. He is relatively confident being among all the other dogs ranging from 5 pounds to 95 pounds and is playful with all of the dogs, encouraging play. He loves to snuggle up as close as he can and will follow me around everywhere. He is a very sweet, affectionate boy with that fun streak where he loves to run and play.

KAYOTE would benefit from a family that is familiar with the toy/small breed dog, who understands their needs and potential medical issues as they get older and be in a position to ensure they get all that they need to live a long, happy, loved, safe, healthy life. Small dogs do tend to have teeth issues so it is almost a guarantee that they will need dental care throughout their life. This is not an inexpensive treatment.

We currently feed SPORTMIX Wholesomes Chicken Meal & Rice Formula, a 4* (a per GRAIN FREE food along with pro-bioitics and immune support supplements listed on the available dogs page!

KAYOTE is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of US $500

This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

KAYOTE is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. There is a local hotel in Dover-Foxcroft that is pet-friendly (approx 6 miles) and several in Bangor (approx 45 miles). There are also lots of wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

KAYOTE, a New Brunswick Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in New Brunswick, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in New Brunswick.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Brunswick already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Brunswick breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Brunswick paves the way for another one to be saved.
