If you want to meet Crystal, ask at the desk or ask a staff member. Right now, this beautiful girl is recovering from an embedded collar, but that doesn't slow her down. She came to us from a local county shelter and we are thrilled to spend time with this lovely lady. She has plenty of energy but she is restricted to leash walks as she is also being treated for heartworms. All of this hasn't hurt her attitude as she is a happy girl who loves to be close to her handler. She is a lap full of wiggle if you get down on the ground with her. She plops her bum in your lap and then tries to snuggle in as close as she can. If you would like a young lady who will sit pretty for a treat, cuddle with you and is too mature for puppy craziness but still wants to have fun, come meet Crystal!

About Atlanta Humane Society - Alpharetta

About Our Shelter...

Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) is a 501(c)3 tax exempt nonprofit (IRS Tax ID# 58-0685900) and the oldest private charitable organization in Atlanta, founded in 1873 following a visit to the city by Robert E. Lee. The animal charity was originally chartered to protect women, children, and animals and remained a child protection and animal welfare society for 79 years. AHS, now a widely recognized pet adoption center, clinic, and educational program provider, was originally located on Marietta Street and moved to its location at 981 Howell Mill Road in the 1930s. Atlanta Humane Society's Mansell Road Adoption Facility was opened in December of 2011 in Alpharetta.

It is our mission to prevent neglect, abuse, cruelty and exploitation of animals and to assure that their interests and well-being are fully, effectively and humanely protected by an aware and caring society.

Atlanta Humane Society places approximately 8,000 animals into forever homes each year. AHS is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets. We do not euthanize adoptable animals, and there are no time limits for the animals once they are in our care. We only humanely euthanize those animals suffering from significant medical issues or that pose behavior concerns. We are proud to be a part of the solution to ending pet homelessness and overpopulation in the Southeast United States.
