Ruger wandered onto someone's property in a rural area. He had a piece of baling twine around his neck which had partially embedded. He was about 20 pounds underweight and could barely walk under his own strength. His eyes were infected, he had an open sore on his hip which was infected and he was obviously starving. It was also found that he had hookworms.
Ruger has recuperated marvelously. He's a very gentle boy and enjoys life outside. We've tried to keep him inside but he gets very anxious and whines/howls. He loves his dog house, which seems to be his safe place. He does not wander far from us at any time.
