Moran's Story...
Moran is one of a litter of puppies Florida Urgent Rescue saved from a life of living out in the elements with no human contact. He is one of a litter of 5 who were spotted by a concerned citizen who then reached out for help. The first time they were seen there were 11 puppies, the next time a few weeks after that, there were only 5. Several people in the area began to feed them but even after weeks they wouldn't let anyone touch them. They were in bad shape once we finally trapped them and got them to the vet. Their skin was infected with demodectic mange which was compounded by scrapes and cuts they had gotten from living in the woods their whole lives. The had been eating leaves, sticks and dirt, their little bellies were just full of debris.

After being in foster homes for almost a month they are learning to trust people. They are learning how to be puppies and absolutely love other dogs. Moran lives with cats, dogs of all sizes and has visiting grandkids coming around that he really shows an interest in. With a little patience and a lot of love he would be an amazing addition to a home with at least one other dog to show him the ropes.

We start all of our adoptions with a one week sleepover, so you know everything there is to know before finalizing the adoption.

Adoption Fees for puppies under 6 months old: $225
Adoption Fees for dogs/puppies 6 months old or older: $150
This includes vetting, UTD Vaccinations and spay or neuter

We ask that you fill out an adoption application before you meet our animals. You can download it here: http://www.floridaurgentrescue.com/adopt

Please note: We are not a shelter. We do not have a kennel or facility that you can visit and see all the Animals. Each Animal is fostered in an individual home. So, you cannot come visit our animals until you have gone through the application and brief phone interview process and then we will schedule a meet and greet with the animal and their foster parents. Then the next step would be a 1 week sleepover, so before finalizing we can all make sure it's a perfect fit. We are all volunteers and do this in our spare time, we do not have set "hours" and we answer all calls and emails as quickly as we can. Thank you so much for your interest in our FUR Babies!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Moran, a Jacksonville Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) puppy from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
