My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BB is a big handsome boy who weighs 80 lbs and he is a year and a half old. He has a very special rescue story behind him, and he is an amazing dog who has made such progress in the 3 short months we have had him. He was born on a farm area in the fall of 2015 with 70 of other dogs on the property, and little human contact. He never had much socialization with humans, never allowed indoors, but he was the happiest and most playful out of the whole group of dogs when we went to help see if there were any there that we could rescue. He was rescued and brought to our home January of 2017 and wasn't sure how to react to all the new things that come along with being in a home. Everything was new to him. Being allowed in the house, all of the sounds in a typical home, being walked on a leash, etc… It has been an absolute joy to watch him discover new things and learn how to be a pet. He loves to play and he will really thrive in a home with other dogs. He takes direction from them, and they make him feel comfortable in new situations. He is very friendly with other dogs and loves to play tug and chew on rope toys He still enjoys being outside but will need a home with a privacy fence since he is a big boy and could jump some fences and could be easily spooked by new things the can't always be anticipated. He also plays great at the dog park. He loves his food and gets very excited at meal time. He doesn't get on the furniture and prefers to sleep at the end of the bed or at your feet. BB will be the most loyal dog you have ever owned- once he trusts you he feels protective of you and your space which can lead to some barking but no aggressiveness. In general, BB does like to bark to let you know when something new happens in his world or someone new comes over but he is never aggressive. He gets a lot of confidence from other dogs and does like to follow and submit to a pack. He loves the dog park and plays well with everyone. He would love nothing more than a home with a doggy playmate, a rope, and human to give him belly rubs. He needs an indoor-only home.

BB would do best in a home without small dogs, puppies, or small children, because he is fearful of them. He can be easily startled and will bark to let you know so but warms up with some treats and time, He will need a special family who will allow him to adapt at his pace. He is so special to us and he is such a delightful big boy!

Fill out an application for sweet BB here and we will be in touch asap. http://forrescue.net/dog-application/. He is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms, dewormed, and current on Trifexis. BB is eager to find his very own family.
