We need all hands on board. Elliot needs our help to survive. Elliot's mom passed away in September of 2016. She left her 3 beloved dogs behind. She left money for their care and she left them with a caretaker. The caretaker can no longer take care of them.
The two seniors have gone to a senior sanctuary.
Elliot is still in the home and is at risk for euthanasia.
Elliot is a kind and friendly 7 year old dog. He is great with all people including kids. Though he lived with 2 other dogs and did very well, it did take some time for them to be able to live in harmony.
Elliot would do best in a home as an only pet and with a yard for him to run around and play. He is housebroken and does not bark.
Elliot has Myasthenia Gravis, this is a disease that affects muscle contraction. The disease has been very well controlled for several years.
He is under the care of the neurologist at Red Bank veterinary hospital.
Elliot comes with lifetime paid veterinary care. His vet bills will be paid for the remainder of his life. His mom left this for him.
He was obviously very loved and a very important part of his mom's life.
We are now fighting to save Elliot.
We have until March 28 to find him a foster or adoptive home.
Please email us at or submit an application at to meet Elliot. He does not have much time left.

About Friends of Linden Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

FOLAS is an all volunteer, non-profit animal rescue group formed in 2000. We are dedicated to finding lifelong, committed and loving homes for the many deserving animals that have lost their home. We care for and find adoptive homes for unwanted previous pets, or unclaimed strays, regardless of the manner they arrive into our system.

Come Meet Our Pets...

For those pets at the shelter, you must submit an online application and then an appointment will be set up for a meet and greet. NO EXCEPTIONS!

We have 8 permanent cat kennels at Petsmart in Union, NJ on route 22 east. You can meet any of those cats during store hours. Those cats at Petsmart are indicated on our website as location-Union. Please stop by!

We have many pets in foster care, so please call or email us to set up an appointment to meet one of our cats or dogs in foster care.

Our Adoption Process...

If you are interested in adopting any FOLAS cat or dog, please fill out an online application and a volunteer will get back to you. Our dogs are all spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested and treated with heartworm preventative and flea and tick preventative. Our cats are also spayed/neutered, dewormed and up to date on their vaccinations.

Please email us if you have any other questions at
