My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mario is a 3 year male old mountain cur / cattle dog mix. Mountain Cur’s are a hunting breed usually used for hunting small game like squirrels and raccoons. Mario always has his nose to the ground like most hound dogs. And he sure does zone into the squirrels when walking or they are in the yard. He also seems to have some cattle dog in him as he likes to chase/herd the other dogs. He is very friendly and gets along with everyone and all dogs he has encountered. He’s more submissive than dominant and loves to just be around other dogs. You will find him often snuggling with my dog on the doggie bed. He’s still being evaluated on being housebroken. He is crate trained and he does well when in the kitchen area. When having the run of the house he tends to have an accident. Close monitoring and a good schedule he will learn that he needs to do his business outside. He is very smart so this will take no time at all. He loves going for walks and walks extremely well on the leash. Loves to play tug-o-war with the other dog or will amuse himself by throwing the ball up in the air. He’s been a nice quiet dog, whines a little if in the kitchen by himself but quiet in his crate. Doesn’t jump up on you too much and listens pretty well if you tell him no.
