Hello, my name is Scout and I am looking for a forever home to call my own. I am currently at the Chatham County Animal Shelter waiting to meet my new family! If you are looking for a new companion to spend your days with, please come to meet me! I already walk well on leash and know how to sit and lay down when asked too. I also love some belly rubbing! If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Krista or Ginny or at the Chatham County Animal Shelter 919-542-7203. You can also send an e-mail to animal.shelter@chathamnc.org

The dog adoption fee is $100 (cash or check), that includes spay, a combination vaccination, and a rabies vaccine. At the Chatham County Animal Control shelter adoptions are first come first served, holds are not allowed, in person or over the phone. The shelter is open for adoptions from 11-4 Monday thru Friday and on Saturday from 8-12.

If you are interested in adopting Scout, click here to go to the CARE Web site and read more. At our Web site, click on the animal's name to bring up CARE's Adoption Request Form. The information on this form is required before we can consider an adoptive home.

About Chatham Animal Rescue and Education

About Our Rescue Group...

The mission of Chatham Animal Rescue and Education (CARE) is to promote respect, understanding and compassionate care for all animals. CARE strives to teach by example, to be a resource to the community and local government, and to provide foster care for animals until they can be adopted into permanent homes.

Chatham Animal Rescue and Education was originally incorporated as Chatham Humane Society (CHS), in 1975. CARE is a 501(c)(3) organization, and thus qualified for deductible donations.

Our Adoption Process...

If you would like to meet a CARE foster animal, please complete an online application at www.chathamanimalrescue.org. Your application is then forwarded to the corresponding foster parent, who will contact you directly.
