Hi there, my name is Mindy and I would love for you to become my new best friend. They tell me I've been a bit withdrawn but you would too in my place. But since then I've started out of my shell with all my best traits on display. Well, OK, maybe not ALL but most of them. Spunky and goofy? That's what they said? Wow, I like that. I know for sure that I love cozying up in a human lap as I was once allowed to do. Also know that I love playing with both humans and dogs. And on top of all that, I'm a perfect lady on a leash or getting into my crate for a well deserved rest. I think some of the dogs here have never known love. So I ask “'is it better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all” ? You have the power to love me, so pick me, pick me.
Mindy was intercepted at the San Bernardino City Shelter. Her owner could not afford the cost of medical attention for her so he was going to have her euthanized. It was her lucky day! I crossed paths with the owner coming out of the Shelter and he was entering and asked why he was going to relinquish her and a sibling. Instead, he relinquished her to me. She would do well with a less active family. She likes to hang out and take an occasional walk. About 5 years old, she'll make a good loyal companion who embraces affection.

If you are interested in meeting Mindy or any Poochmatch dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between 1-5 PM, please fill out an application from our website, poochmatch.com, and return it via email to poochmatch@hotmail.com no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster parent.

About Poochmatch

About Our Rescue Group...

I became involved in animal rescue because of the overwhelming number of stray animals I observe in less affluent areas of Southern California. I do what I do because I enjoy connecting all the dots - full circle - in terms of rescuing dogs, getting them cleaned up, treated medically and then adopted.

Poochmatch is a small rescue group with half-a dozen volunteers. Since our founding in 2006, we have done over 2,400 dog adoptions. We are on track to do over 300 in 2016.

We'd love to have more assistance. We need help administratively from individuals with computers, digital cameras and marketing skills. Please see http://poochmatch.com/volunteer.html for more information.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Adoption events are generally held every Saturday at Petsmart in Yorba Linda (Savi Ranch) 5521 Mirage Street from noon to 4 pm. To confirm we will be holding an adoption event, call Lydia at 714-241-9765.

Our Adoption Process...

We do not have a facility. Our dogs are in foster homes with volunteers.

All prospective adopters must complete and adoption application. Upon receipt and review (usually within 24 hours), a mutually agreeable appointment date, time and place will be scheduled. Prospective adopters must be receptive to a home check, sign an adoption contract and provide an adoption donation sufficient to cover the cost of spay/neuter, vaccinations and a microchip. The adoption fee for young or adult dogs is generally $225 - $275. The adoption fee for puppies varies from $325 to $425. The adoption fee always includes the cost of spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo & Bordetella), De-worming and Fecal Testing.
