My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MAGIC: 8-10 Year Old Spayed Female Yellow Lab Mix 70 lbs

Sweet Magic – Magic was found as a stray in San Jose. She had a microchip, but no one stepped forward to claim her. When her stray hold was up at the shelter, Lab Rescue stepped in to bring her to safety. How could anyone not love this sweet girl? An older girl, Magic does have some arthritis and ear infections that are clearing up. She is well behaved and will make a great companion. What does she need? Lots of love and a soft bed!

What her foster says:
Magic is a very sweet dog. She will bark when you leave, but is quiet when you return. She loves to go outside and roll in the grass. She is gentle and easy going and will make a great companion. She is good on short walks and is easy on the leash. She sleeps through the night in her own bed next to her foster mom's bed. She loves her toys and the ball, but is not obsessed. Her foster says that Magic is one of the easiest dogs that she has fostered.
Magic would prefer to be an only dog in the house. We don't know how Magic is around cats. Due to her arthritis, she would be best suited for a home without stairs and any kids in the home should be 10+. Magic would be a great dog for someone who wants a Lab companion to love and hang out with, but who doesn't want to deal with the high energy and rambunctiousness of a younger dog.

Magic had a recent well-check vet visit, is current on vaccinations, heartworm free, and is microchipped. Magic is located in the Peninsula/South Bay.

If you are interested in Magic, please call or text Rescue Rep Katy at 650-796-3596.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
