My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Donation: $100.00

Curtis has a special angel!!!!  Dennis Vigneau, SCMR thanks you, and Curtis definitely thanks you!!

Curtis is about 13 years old and weighs around 6 pounds.  We don't know much about him before he came to SCMR which is why we have to estimate his age.  What we do know is that he was found on the side of a road so badly matted that he couldn't see, could hardly open his mouth and could hardly walk, but he has been cleaned up and that is all behind him now.
Curtis is very sweet and full of love, but he does need time to learn to trust his humans, and because of this, he is a bit reserved and standoffish and would not be one to want to cuddle and be held, likely because of how he was treated before he was rescued.  He is terrified of anyone touching his head and face so for that reason he is nearly impossible to groom.

Curtis does have some health issues that need to be noted.  He had to have an infected eye removed, and sadly, he is totally blind in the remaining eye.  He is a very smart little fella and has learned his way around his foster home.  He is doing wonderfully given how much pain and neglect he has endured.
Curtis also is not house trained but he uses potty pads, and he barks a lot to get the attention of his humans.  The bark is one of 'where are you', and once he is reassured he is safe, he is then okay.  So if barking would be a concern, then perhaps another rescue would be a better fit.  He also has halitosis (extremely bad breath), he has been examined, had a dental, but we are just not able to determine the cause of the bad breath.
SCMR appreciates all financial support if anyone would like to sponsor Curtis, please check out our sponsor options.

Curtis is being loved and treated like the prince he is in Largo, FL until the right forever home comes to pick him up!
