Big Ben came from a high kill shelter in Kentucky that CCR helps as often as possible due to their high overcrowding and euthanization rate.  Big Ben is a teenage pup who is the epitome of the definition “Big Goof Ball”.  When you first meet him the first thing you notice is that happy, goofy smile that is noticeably sprinkled with the most delicious freckles atop an adorable nose and well marked face.  We think our Big Ben is a Saint Bernard mix, and at 8 months old he already weighs 70 pounds.  He should reach the magic 100 pound mark sometime in his adulthood.  He needs some polishing as one would expect a discarded shelter dog to need.  The young ones like Big Ben start out with families as the typical “adorable puppy” and then they grow and they challenge the owners to train them to be good dogs.  But then for all the excuses in the world from the humans the puppy gets no training and has to raise itself which has poor results.  No training means; throw the dog out when it gets too big and has no real manners, dump it at the shelter where someone else will be expected to take them and finish what should have been done months or even years earlier.  Manners are easy to train if you are a good dog owner.  Big Ben will find that willing and determined family who will take his good nature and happy spirit and will show him how to be the great dog he has the potential to be.  He is a joy, he is our special designated GOOF BALL and really, who couldn’t love that face?  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com
